100% Fullblood Boer Goats

Glory Roads Red Baron

Baron was my first Buck experience and it was a great one.  I learned that the way you raise a goat means nothing, the way you treat a goat means everything. I learned that a good buck will do anything in his power and beyond to romance a doe and do what God put him on this earth to do.  I learned that a buck left with his does long term becomes a protective, defensive and dangerous animal when he becomes a full blown adult.

Once Baron bred my first and only doe I traded him for a deluxe rabbit keeping system.  Once he showed his prowess with does the new owner was thrilled. Once he showed how protective and "Buckly" he can be once he's bred all "his" does the new owner was nervous. Once Baron showed how clever he is at escaping his enclosure he was put up for sale. Good luck Baron!  His little girl "Midnight Miracle" will live on with me to show that he was a success no matter what.  All that he taught me will help me build a correct "Buck Pen" and arrange a better system for me and my incoming Bucks.

First Clue

"Clue" was my first Fullblood Boer goat and I was pretty sure I was a failure at goat keeping after my first year with her. I bought her with another doeling. Both were wildly unfriendly and the other little girl was chased, caught and killed by the farm dogs on day 2.  I was upset enough that I focused in pretty hard on Clue and she became a terrible pet.  I thought she didn't grow fast enough, big enough, correct enough. It seemed the only thing to like about Clue was that she loves me.

I didn't know what a goats growth rate is like.

Clue had her first kid Jan 30, 2014 at 11:31pm CST, I helped. It was a deadly freezing cold night so I brought Clue into my house as soon as she showed mucous.  Many kids died of cold this winter.

She kidded on my kitchen floor on my blankets and I impatiently slid the little girl straight down out of her mommy into my already gooey lap.      I finally felt like a success, just a little.

I named the doeling kid "Midnight Miracle" and I can't find fault with her or her mom anymore.  They are perfect and I think I can do something with goats. All it took was a Clue and a Miracle to prove it to me.

Midnight Miracle

"Mira" is my first experience with raising a kid. I was extremely careful about her bonding well with her mother and it worked out great. They stayed inside my house with me for the first 2 weeks of Mira's life and in the first month they never got out of earshot of each other (except when Mira comes to my door wanting to visit).

Can't wait til Mira is breeding age.  I think the joy will be so overwhelming I will have to do my first goat show with her first kid.

The Next "Big Deal" Buck

Negotiations are nearly complete, downpayment is in the mail.  The next buck promises to be better than the last, even though he's just a baby now.  I just know that he's gonna be special!

Will post photos and information on him as soon as seller give authorization.

2014 New Doeling

I swore if Clue worked out for me I would contact her breeder to commision another doeling the following year so now it's time! The young lady is finishing out her kidding season and I'm on top of the list to be alerted when she's ready for buyers to make their choices. I can't wait!
